1. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is nearing a decision on a pair of bitcoin-related ETFs. The agency has a Thursday deadline to approve or disapprove the ProShares Bitcoin ETF and the ProShares Short Bitcoin ETF. Unlike Cboe's VanEck bitcoin ETF, which the SEC delayed a decision on earlier this month, this proposed rule change cannot be delayed any further under the regulator's rules. Both of these proposals are underpinned by bitcoin futures contracts, rather than any physical holdings of bitcoin. -COINDESK

2. China once again named EOS the top blockchain network in its monthly ratings. The China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute and China Software Testing Center saw EOS as the clear top choice based on its scoring system. Ethereum was second, followed by Komodo, Nebulas, and NEO. Bitcoin came in tenth. -CCN

3. The majority of bitcoin cash continues to be held by a select few. Only 67 wallets control about 56 percent of bitcoin cash not located on exchanges. Of those wallets, two hold between 10,000 and 100,000 tokens each. This consolidation comes as the price of bitcoin cash has drop significantly in the past six months. -BITCOINIST

4. The energy needed to mine cryptocurrency could drive innovation, a researcher believes. Dr. Katrina Kelly-Pitou, an electrical and computer engineering research associate at the University of Pittsburgh, wrote that the environmental conservation slant against bitcoin is used to spread false claims. 5. eToro, a United Kingdom-based cryptocurrency exchange, has signed an advertising deal with seven Premier League teams. More than that, the exchange paid the soccer clubs in bitcoin. The clubs are Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Cardiff City, Leicester City Football Club, Newcastle United and Southampton. –COIN TELEGRAPH

6. Bakkt, the digital asset platform created by Starbucks, Microsoft, and BCG, will not support margin trading. CEO Kelly Loeffler recently outlined the major principles of the platform. They include an infrastructure for institutional investments, transparent and efficient price discovery, and a consistant regulatory construct. –BITCOINIST
