The Stellar Development Foundation and Advent International expressed interest in an acquisition of MoneyGram International. MoneyGram previously worked with Ripple on a cross-border liquidity product before the SEC lawsuit. More: Stellar (XLM) launched in 2014 as a hard fork of the Ripple (XRP) protocol. The XRP network has, however, made changes to its conscientious algorithm since. In Ripple’s work with MoneyGram, Ripple had additionally purchased a $30M stake in the NASDAQ-traded company. MoneyGram also expanded into crypto with its recent partnership with crypto ATM firm CoinMe.

The Texas State Securities Board (TSSB) filed a cease-and-desist order against BlockFi for alleged state securities laws violations. Texas joined Alabama and New Jersey as the third state to take actions against the BlockFi Interest Account (BIA) More: The TSSB stated that BlockFi provides 25,000 Texans with crypto deposits valued at around $691M. BlockFi will be permitted to continue offering its services until the court makes a ruling on the order. The order shows that the TSSB had allegedly informed BlockFi of this potential violation back in April.

🍋Fresh Funding🍋 Monarch, Financial Management ⮕ $4.8M. The seed funding round was led by Accel with participation from SignalFire. More: Monarch is a subscription-based financial planning and management platform for checking, credit cards, brokerage accounts, real estate, and crypto. The closed beta was released in early 2021 and has seen a 9% weekly increase in paid subscribers. Founded in 2019, Monarch has raised a total of $5.5M to date.

Thorchain (RUNE) was exploited for $8M after a hacker refunded himself for funds he had withdrawn from his account. Thorchain had previously experienced a $140,000 exploit in June and a $5M hack just a week ago. More: In the refund transaction, the hacker left a note stating he knowingly limited the impact of his exploit. Thorchain acknowledged the incident, stating that it has halted further production on the network until it reviews all its current code. RUNE is currently down 17% and has fallen 81% from its all-time high back in May.
