Bloomberg predicts U.S. BTC ETF in 2021/ Total crypto market cap gained $375M in 7 days / Fresh Funding

Bloomberg analysts are anticipating a BTC ETF in the U.S. before the end of 2021. As BTC continues to gain institutional support and SEC filings continue to pile up, the approval of a BTC ETF seems imminent. More: Canada’s crypto ETFs are currently among the most traded stocks on the market and have a total of $2.3B in AUM. Having previously taught classes on blockchains and crypto at MIT, analysts believe that newly appointed SEC chairman Gary Gensler has enough of an understanding of BTC to provide regulatory approval. Currently, U.S. retail investors can only gain investment exposure through crypto trusts like GBTC or in companies that hold BTC on their balance sheet like MSTR.

$375M was invested into crypto investment products in the past week. BTC saw inflows of $290M, and ETH received over $60M. More: Inflows into crypto have been steadily increasing over the past month, with the total market cap of digital assets reaching an ATH of $2.5T. The total market cap gained almost $300B in just the first week of May alone.  Since reaching the ATH of $2.5T yesterday, the market cap has since declined nearly $100B.

Block.one’s subsidiary crypto exchange was backed by Peter Thiel, Alan Howard, Mike Novogratz, Louis Bacon, Richard Li, and Christian Angermayer. More: Bullish Global received around $10B in funding. In addition to the $300M raised by investors, Block.one also provided $100M in cash, 164K BTC (~$9B), and 20M EOS (~$227M). Peter Thiel, Alan Howard, and Christian Angermayer will serve as senior advisors to the crypto project. The Bullish exchange is set to offer AMM, lending, and portfolio management tools for users while also providing liquidity to its provided assets. NiiFi, DEX: $3M. The latest seed round was led by DARMA Capital and participated in by A195 Capital, AU21 Capital, Blocksync Ventures, Lotus Capital, Moonwhale Ventures, Protocol Ventures, Three M Capital, and Matterblock, among others. More:  NiiFi is a decentralized exchange offering real-time transactions for high-frequency trading and other swapping and lending features.
