1. Bitcoin prices flirted with $7,000 per coin early Tuesday. The value of a coin rose to as high as $6,960.98 earlier today, its highest since Sept. 5. The jump comes amid a larger cryptocurrency drop the day before amid reports surrounding the stability of tether. While the price of bitcoin has since receded somewhat, the coin did see a 10 percent increase in less than 24 hours. –FORBES

2. Fidelity has officially launched a cryptocurrency platform. Called Fidelity Digital Assets, the platform will house a crypto trading platform and custody solutions to offer a mainstream way for Wall Street investors to invest in cryptocurrency. The platform will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to keep up with the non-stop nature of the cryptocurrency market. –DAILY HODL

3. The Constantinople upgrade to the ethereum blockchain will not happen in 2018. The hard fork suffered an alleged "consensus" issue last week after being deployed on the Ropsten testnet. Developers plan to test the upgrade on other testnets while the Ropsten issue is found. However, the issues have caused the Constantinople fork to be indefinitely delayed. –CRYPTO SLATE

4. Colleges and universities continue to receive donations in bitcoin, even though some are not sure how to accept them. The trend started in 2014 when Nicolas Cary, co-founder of Blockchain, wanted to make a $10,000 donation to the University of Puget Sound, his alma mater. The school had no idea how to accept the donation, but Cary showed them. Now, these types of donations are common at the school. At the same time, places like Harvard and Yale have yet to accept a crypto donation, although Yale has looked into the process. –BLOOMBERG
