Hey friend.

What's shakin', bacon? — You ready to decompress this weekend?

If you missed it, I spent about 8 days in the middle of an inhabitable desert for Burning Man recently.

It was my first burning man... and I gotta say: even though I can't really understand why, the whole experience was pretty damn magical

I might have a new yearly addiction on my hands here 🤫

Here's a quick picture while I was waiting for an elaborate performance to start in the middle of the playa:

Anyway...

Loom Network has been up to a lot of cool stuff as well.

Speaking of which, let's get to some updates, shall we?

First up...

1. We are changing the name of P̶l̶a̶s̶m̶a̶C̶h̶a̶i̶n̶ to BaseChain

Image

As you might already know — over the last 2 years, we have managed to build EXACTLY what we've wanted with PlasmaChain, with major benefits to developers like:
  • 1–3 second confirmation times
  • Having no gas fees for your users
  • Being immune to mainnet transaction congestion
  • Being fully compatible with MetaMask and other major Ethereum wallets

...and now, it is time to supercharge this bad boy with some major upgrades.

The thing is... to reflect all of the new upcoming changes, we are also going to change the name of P̶l̶a̶s̶m̶a̶C̶h̶a̶i̶n̶ to BaseChain, so it'll be a much more accurate descriptor as we move forward.

If you are a developer, this should be exciting news.

With that said...

Oh, by the way...

2. LOOM is now available on Gemini Custody

If you missed it — Gemi just released Gemini Custody, a custodian for your tokens. They support about 18 different cryptocurrencies etc... and the LOOM Token is among them.

In other news...

• If you are a developer, here's a video tutorial on how to create and deploy contracts on Loom Testnet.

Loom was listed again in the Top 10 for ERC-20 Dapps that have the most developer activity — by Santiment

That's what's sizzling around this here kitchen 😉

P.S — If you are interested in Artificial Intelligence, go watch Nick Bostrom on Joe Rogan's podcast. It's super fun. His book Superintelligence is also quite good — I also just watched Wu Tang Clan's documentary Of Mics and Men, It's excellent.
