1. Bitcoin's recent run continued into Monday morning with the coin briefly jumping above $5,300 per coin. Ethereum also has seen solid gains, jumping more than 5 percent over a 24-hour period. The rest of the market, though, has not fared as well. Many of the coins in the top 20 by market cap have seen losses, including Ontology and Bitcoin Cash, which were both down more than 6 percent over the last day. –COIN TELEGRAPH
2. The servers of popular wallet Electrum are under a heavy denial of service attack. A sophisticated botnet of more than 140,000 machines launched the attack with the intent to direct users to compromised versions of the software designed to steal digital coins. The site has recommended that users be incredibly careful when using the platform until the issue is resolved. If users install these compromised versions of the platform and sync them with their wallet, it would allow hackers to instantly take their coins. –THE NEXT WEB

3. Bitcoin Futures hit record trading volume Thursday, said CME Group. The activity coincides with the cryptocurrency market's price boom this past week. CME said investors placed both long and short positions with traders initiating 22,500 contracts worth more than 112,000 BTC. The amount of bitcoin greatly surpassed the previous record of 64,300 BTC, which was set on February 19. –ETHEREUM WORLD NEWS
4. The volume of bitcoin searches spiked this past week along with the digital coin's price. The number of internet search for bitcoin hit its highest rate in six months, according to Google trend analytics. Google searches have been a good indicator of market cycles, as spikes in search tend to be indicative of specific occurrences in the market. Along with increased traffic on Google, bitcoin was the top trending search term on Baidu, the biggest search engine in China. –TOSHI TIMES
