The challenge is that social tokens need to appreciate by including new members and yet these membership gated communities must keep their groups exclusive otherwise the social and utility value will decrease. On-chain Verified CAPTCHAs Recently the Gamebytes team (@kanethomasDX, @alex_williamsa, @MoreJelly, and @JaredDowning_) launched a fun experiment called The CAPTCHAs. The CAPTCHAs are a showcase for the concept of on-chain verified CAPTCHAs, meant to help prevent bots from participating in NFT drops. Go to the site and you're given a Captcha. Get the Captcha right and you mint the Captcha as an NFT. Get the Captcha wrong and the transaction reverts. Community DAOs In crypto land, 2020 was all about DeFi. So far, 2021 has been about NFTs (hot jpeg summer anyone?). Crypto isn't just a technology, it's an internet-native economy. Revenue is tracked in ETH. Key decisions are made with community governance. Transactions are enforced on-chain through smart contracts. Treasuries are controlled via multi-sigs.
