S&P Dow Jones announced a new index focused on crypto. The index will be added to the previously released three indices focused on bitcoin (BTC) and ethereum (ETH) that were announced in May. More: The Crypto Broad Digital Market (BDM) Index will track the crypto market based on 240 different cryptos. The current global head of innovation and strategy at the S&P, Peter Roffman, called the BDM index a “first step” in its expansion into crypto. Blockchain data provider Lukka will provide the crypto market data for BDM.

21Shares announced a partnership with Comdirect to provide crypto ETPs within savings accounts. The partnership will allow 21Shares to provide physically-backed crypto ETPs within Comdirect’s SparPlan. More: 21Shares is incorporated in Zug, Switzerland, with offices in both Zurich and New York. 21Shares additionally has over $1.3M in AUM across its 15 crypto ETPs. The partnership will provide access to the German market and make the partnership’s offerings a first for German exchanges.

🍋Fresh Funding🍋 CertiK, Blockchain Audit: $37M ⮕ The Series B was co-led by Coatue Management and Shunwei Capital and participated in by Coinbase Ventures. More: This was the largest fundraising round for any blockchain audit company. CertiK provides security audits for blockchains to over 1,000 clients, securing over $70B in digital assets. With the fresh funding, CertiK stated that it would double its team of 100 and continue expanding on its security features.

🍋Fresh Funding🍋 Phantom, Crypto Wallet: $9M ⮕ Andreesen Horowitz (A16z) led the Series A funding round with participation from Garry Tan, Variant Fund, Jump Capital, DeFi Alliance, the Solana Foundation, and others. More: Phantom is a non-custodial wallet and browser extension for crypto within the Solana ecosystem. The startup plans to use the fresh funding to expand its wallet to other blockchain networks. Phantom launched its beta in April and currently provides its services to 40,000 users.
