Locked ETH in Ethereum 2.0 has exceeded over 4M (~$11M). Currently in “Phase 0,” ETH 2.0 still needs to reach the required 16K validators before it can progress into its next phase. More: The current total of locked ETH significantly surpassed the 500K ETH necessary for the project to continue. Some attribute Coinbase’s waitlist for 2.0 staking as a reason for the influx in locked ETH. In exchange for locking up their tokens, Coinbase offered users on the waitlist 6% APY. Ethereum 2.0 (Eth2) is a set of interconnected upgrades designed to facilitate the scalability, security, and sustainability of the Ethereum network.

🍋 FRESH FUNDING 🍋 360X, digital marketplace/exchange: $12.12M. The tokenized art and real estate investment marketplace received investments from Deutsche Borse and Commerzbank to expand the project. More: 360X wants to develop marketplaces and ecosystems on the blockchain for already existing assets, including NFTs. Deutsche Borse has a 50% stake in 360X’s holding company, and Commerzbank has a lower double-digit stake. The founders and some private investors retain outstanding shares. Deutsche Borse and Commerzbank have collaborated on blockchain projects in the past. In 2019, the two Germany-based financial institutions began executing joint transactions using an experimental distributed ledger technology. Finoa, crypto custodian: $22M. Balderton Capital led the institutional custodian’s Series A funding round with participation from Coparion, Venture Stars, Signature Ventures, and others. More: The latest funding round follows a ‘multi-million’ private seed funding round in January 2020, led by Venture Stars and Coparion, with additional participation from Signature Ventures and Serial-Entrepreneur Frank Geßner. Finoa plans to use the funds raised in its Series A to expand its services beyond custody and staking. Balderton Capital has previously led investment rounds in fintech companies like Revolut and Luno. Paxos, blockchain infrastructure: $300M. The New York-based firm announced a successful Series D funding round led by Oak HC/FT, with participation from Declaration Partners, PayPal Ventures, Mithril Capital, Senator Investment Group, Liberty City Ventures, WestCap, and others. More: The company plans to use the funds raised in its Series D to further compliance operations and potential acquisitions. Paxos provides crypto and blockchain infrastructure for firms like PayPal and Revolut who want to offer crypto services without the full technical or regulatory obligations. Paxos is additionally building tools for banks and firms to settle securities on a blockchain. Credit Suisse is currently testing the experimental product. However, more regulatory and development work needs to be done before it can be offered as a full service.

Binance Coin (BNB) jumped nearly 10% today, exceeding a market cap of $90B. BNB started the year trading around $37 and has since rallied over 1.5K% to around $600. More: BNB has since retraced down to $571 (at the time of writing) but is making moves up back toward an ATH of $650. A breakout above $600 could signal a bull flag with a price target of $930 (+65%). $514/BNB has been a significant support line for the token’s price. A drop below that key support could see a longer-term consolidation down toward $340.
