1. The price of bitcoin and other leading cryptocurrencies has seemed to settle following this week's furious bear run. With the world's leading digital coin now trading at around $5,000 there is lots of speculation about what will happen next, but no consensus. Just look at these two competing stories: Cole Peterson at News BTC reports that a technical indicator shows bitcoin will surge nearly 200 percent in the coming weeks; on the other hand, Vildana Hajric reports at Bloomberg that another technical gauge indicates bitcoin is overbought and ready for a drop. –BLOOMBERG

2. The Lightning Torch will soon burn out after participation from hundreds of recipients. The torch is a hard-coded transaction that has a limit of about $170. Each torch bearer has added about 30 cents each time it is passed, causing its value to increase over time. Based on the limits of lightning channels, the torch can only be sent about 12 more times before it hits the transaction limit. The torch was created to highlight the power and ease of the Lightning Network. –COINDESK

3. Weiss Ratings named XRP as the best cryptocurrency for adoption and technology. The rating company looked into 120 cryptocurrencies and ranked them according to their technology and the likelihood of success. EOS and Bitcoin were also at the top of the list, along with ethereum. The rating comes a little bit as a surprise after Weiss Ratings slammed XRP last year for lack of superior technology. However, Weiss Ratings became impressed with XRP's adaptability and ease of use over the past few months. –ETHEREUM WORLD NEWS
