1. Facebook is in talks with Visa and MasterCard about potentialy supporting the social giant's native cryptocurrency. Leaders of Facebook's cryptocurrency project - codenamed Project Libra - want users to be able to pay for merchandise on partner websites outside of the Facebook ecosystem. To help do this, Facebook reportedly wants Visa, MasterCard and a number of yet-to-be named ecommerce companies to invest in its stablecoin This will be a potential boom for cryptocurrency adoption as Facebook has 2.32 billion monthly active users. Facebook's coin will also be used to send remittances back and forth between users on Whatsapp. -WALL STREET JOURNAL

2. Microsoft is partnering with JPMorgan to power its ethereum-based Quorum blockchain. As part of the deal, Microsoft will make Quorum available on its cloud computing platform, Azure. Quorum will be the first distributed ledger available on Azure's blockchain service. This partnership will make it easier for new developers and existing customers, such as Starbucks and Louis Vuitton, to build applications on the underlying blockchain technology. Microsoft Azure is seen as the second largest cloud service offering available for enterprises, trailing only Amazon Web Services. -BUSINESS INSIDER

4. Bitcoin crossed $5,700 earlier today to set a 5-month high. With the rise in price, Bitcoin's market cap exceeded $100 billion for the first time since November 18. Bitcoin's surge has propelled the rest of the cryptocurrency market, as nearly $10 billion in value has been added to the entire cryptocurrency market cap in the last 24 hours. It's not clear what triggered this rally but the $6,000 price point is the next psychological resistance barrier for traders. -COIN DESK

7. The website GotSatoshi.com promised to have a "live unveiling" of Satoshi Nakamoto when its new countdown clock runs down in 10 days. What exactly they plan to unveil is still unknown. -CRYPTOCURRENCY NEWS

8. Coinbase has added support for often the ridiculed cryptocurrency, dogecoin. -COIN TELEGRAPH

9. ICE backed cryptocurrency platform Bakkt acquired digital assets at a presumed discount during the crypto winter. -ETHEREUM WORLD NEWS

10. The World Gold Organization responded to an ad campaign from Grayscale Investments, which stated cryptocurrency is more valuable than gold, replying that gold is less volatile, has a more liquid market and trades in an established regulatory market . -GOLD
