Jameson Lopp, a former lead engineer at BitGo, said the show failed to provide an accurate analysis of the technology behind bitcoin and the current use cases of the digital currencies. He highlighted four factual errors in the episode: That most bitcoin is spent on illegal services; Byzantine Generals’ Problem is about being able to transact privately; Satoshi invested blockchain; and, all cryptocurrencies use blockchains. -YAHOO       3. Women have become more interested in cryptocurrency investing. London Block Exchange, a cryptocurrency exchange based in the United Kingdom, said that about 13 percent of women would be interested in investing in digital coins. That number is up from 6 percent at the end of last year. The growing female interest came largely from millennials, with 20 percent of millennial women saying they were interested in cryptocurrency investing. -BITCOIN.COM       4. Residents of the Swiss city, Zug, will test voting over blockchain. Residents will use the city’s eID system to vote using their smartphones on a number of issues, including if they believe digital identifications should be used for paying parking fees and to borrowing library books. The results of the votes will not be binding since the polling is only a test. The city is trying to determine if blockchain technology can be used on a wider scale, including for elections. Zug is known as the “Crypto Valley” because of its numerous blockchain startups. -CCN       5. 1,600 investors collectively hold about one-third of the bitcoin in circulation. Known as Bitcoin Whales, the blockchain research company Chainalysis said each of these investors held more than 1,000 bitcoin each. “This concentration of wealth means that bitcoin is at risk of volatility as the moves of a small number of people will have a large price effect,” Chainalysis chief economist Phillip Gladwell said. -EXPRESS       6. Binance CEO Zhao Chengpeng said bitcoin’s drop in price is something the market has seen before, and not to be worried. Mastercard has applied for patents to use blockchain to help validate payments, along with a travel itinerary bidding system.
