 Ernst & Young (EY) announced it would invest $100M into developing blockchain technologies for enterprise applications. EY additionally announced the release of new smart contract and token review tools through the EY Blockchain Analyzer. More: - EY’s Italian beer company, Peroni, will personally test out EY’s latest Ethereum-based supply chain product, “EY OpsChain Traceability.”
- EY OpsChain Traceability will mint NFTs to identify and track data for batches of Peroni beer.
- The big four accounting firm also offers a smart contract and tokenization protocol known as Baseline Protocol that provides enterprise solutions for blockchain transactions.

 China banned financial institutions and payment companies from offering BTC services. The ban restricts services to clients, including registration, trading, clearing, and settlement. More: - The ban was announced in a joint statement from the China Banking Association, Clearing Association of China, and National Internet Association of China, and included several other cryptocurrencies.
- The joint statement cited “manipulation,” infringement on “the safety of people’s property,” and disruption of “the normal economic and financial order” to support the new decision.
- Similar bans have been issued in countries like Nigeria and Turkey, but such restrictions are unclear. Nigeria, for example, saw a 27% increase in P2P trading after the ban on BTC services was initiated.
