BTC tipping via Bitcoin’s Lightning Network is now available on Twitter for all iOS users. Users can tip in BTC via Cash App, GoFundMe, and Strike. More: Support for Android devices is expected in the near future. Twitter additionally announced plans to offer NFT authentication on the platform. Twitter NFT authentication would be in the form of badges, similar to the user verification checkmark.

Binance assisted OFAC in its investigation and sanctions against Russian exchange Suex OTC. Binance publically detailed its involvement in the process in a blog post early this morning. More: The U.S. sanctioned Suex for, among other things, laundering money connected to ransomware attacks. Binance’s internal investigation team identified several accounts listed on the OFAC announcement and took action. Binance had already banned crypto addresses related to Suex for money laundering months before the sanctions were announced.

More: Cobo is a crypto custodian and asset management firm that offers DeFi tools and institutional custody solutions. The fresh funding will be used to obtain regulatory licenses and accelerate the company’s expansion. Cobo previously raised $13M in a Series A back in fall 2018. Grape Protocol, DAO/Infrastructure: $1.2M ⮕ The seed funding round was led by Multicoin Capital with participation from SkyVision Capital, Definitive Capital, LongHash Ventures, Solana Capital, and others. More: Grape is a DAO infrastructure provider that offers tools for DAO community management. The team plans to offer more tools in the future, including an intra-DAO payments system. Grape raised $600,000 in an IDO via Raydium AcceleRaytor last week that received enough transitions to cause an outage on Solana.

Saule Omarova is reportedly the forthcoming nominee for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The anticipated appointment from President Biden would add another crypto critic to the OCC. More: Omarova shared an “insightful” article for the Financial Times titled “Bitcoin’s rise reflects America’s decline” in February last year. In a previous statement to Bloomberg, Omarova said she believed that cryptocurrencies benefit the “mainly dysfunctional financial system we already have.” If confirmed, Omarova would likely join Gary Gensler and Sen. Netflix announced the premiere of an upcoming documentary on QuadrigaCX’s Gerald Cotten. “The Hunt for the Crypto King” will debut on the streaming platform in 2022. More: Cotten was mysteriously reported dead in 2018 while doing volunteer work at an orphanage in India. People became suspicious of Cotten’s death after the crypto exchange QuadrigaCX lost access to nearly $190M in crypto. The documentary follows internet detectives who believe that Cotten may have faked his death and possibly hid from the public on a private yacht.

eToro teased the upcoming launch of a DeFi index portfolio. The new product offering will feature allocations of DeFi tokens such as Uniswap (UNI), Aave (AAVE), and Compound (COMP).
