New Website, New Exchange, Hub Update and More! - IOST Bi-Weekly update: 27/08/18

IOST Update 27th August 2018

Hey  it's been a busy time for IOST over the last 2 weeks. We launched our brand new website complete with a revamped roadmap, hosted a meet-up in Germany, were listed on a new exchange and more! Our CEO Jimmy Zhong also released an open letter for the community about his thoughts on the future of blockchain technology and the growing blockchain industry. Read on for a full update on everything IOST! 

RELEASE OF NEW WEBSITE AND ROADMAP!

We are excited to announce that our revamped website was launched this week! Including an updated roadmap, comprehensive team overview, updated project description, resources section and more! You can now get all IOST project info and updates directly from the website. Check out the new site and let us know what you think!

IOST COMMUNITY HUB UPDATE

This week we released the methodology the IOST Community Hub team used to filter out suspicious and duplicitous activity during the referral program. The full methodology article can be found here

Additionally, the initial 30-day lockup for the Community Hub Referral Program is coming to a close for most participants! Please remember to read all instructions carefully before withdrawing IOST to a wallet that supports IOST.

OPEN LETTER FROM CO-FOUNDER JIMMY ZHONG

Last week, IOST co-founder and CEO Jimmy Zhong sent out an email to all IOST team members titled "Making Friends With Time." In the article, Jimmy addresses the current market climate and expressed his belief that the future of blockchain technology is still incredibly bright and that at IOST, we are building the infrastructure for that better future. Originally released on BitcoinMagazine, It was also featured in Yahoo News and Nasdaq.

BECOME AN IOST EUROPEAN AMBASSADOR

Our Berlin-based team recently launched an IOST Ambassador program in Europe. The team is seeking Community Ambassadors to work with the IOST marketing and growth teams. The role of the ambassadors is to spread their enthusiasm for blockchain technology and build a community around IOST in their city, university or online social circles. NEW PARTNERSHIP: IOST x CARRY PROTOCOL 

We are happy to announce that IOST and Bluehill have partnered with Carry Protocol. Carry Protocol is a leader in innovative offline store experience and provides strong marketing solutions. The project is run by the Spoqa team who have built Korea's No.1 offline store marketing platform. Along with Bluehill, several global strategic investors, such as LINE and HASHED have partnered with Carry Protocol. The news of IOST partnering with Carry Protocol was covered extensively in Korean media including Newsis and Edaily.

IOST x CATENA CAPITAL x HERDIUS MEETUP

This week, the IOST European team co-hosted an event with Herdius and Catena Capital. European Community Lead Aaron Cunningham gave a presentation on consensus mechanisms and scalability, including an overview of the innovative Proof-of-Believability consensus mechanism. The event was well attended by different venture capital funds and blockchain projects from Berlin's burgeoning blockchain industry.

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A WOMAN IN BLOCKCHAIN 

Sa Wang, Co-Founder and CMO of IOST was featured on the front page of Coindesk this week in an in-depth interview touching on blockchain, tech and what it's like to be a women in the fast moving Chinese blockchain industry.

NEW EXCHANGE LISTING - BITMAX

Last week IOST was launched on BitMax. BitMax is an innovative digital asset exchange, officially launched on August 11, 2018. It is led by a number of top investment institutions, including FBG Capital, Bitland and Jingwei China. IOST was one of the first to be listed. In the future, IOST will cooperate with BitMax in various forms to explore the markets of China and the United States.

JIMMY TO SPEAK AT WORLD KNOWLEDGE FORUM 

This week it was confirmed that IOST CEO Jimmy Zhong will be speaking at the 2018 World Knowledge Forum. WKE is one of the largest knowledge festivals in the world, with past speakers including George W. Bush, Hillary Clinton, Tony Blair, Nicolas Sarkozy, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Michael Dell and Larry Ellison. The conference takes place from Oct. 10th-12th.

KOREAN MEDIA FEATURING IOST

Jimmy was in Korea last week and was interviewed by several of the top blockchain focused Korean media outlets. Follow the links to watch his interviews with Tokenpost, Konam and SinsangCoin where he discusses the scalability trilemma, the future of the blockchain industry, how IOST is learning from the mistakes made by EOS, and the importance of creating a truly decentralized network.  

NEW IOST COMMUNICATION CHANNELS

We are excited to announce the launch of our new 'IOST Official Announcements' Telegram channel! This channel will help serve as an announcement board for our entire community, so that there is an official place on Telegram to view all major IOST developments.

We have also just launched the reworked IOST website, which includes a resources and updates section. Going forwards, we will be centralizing announcements on the IOST website in order to have clearer communication with our community!

The last two weeks were certainly a busy period for IOST with new developments and activity around the world. There are also many exciting events on the horizon for IOST including the launch of our upgraded Testnet, the upcoming release of the CryptoHeroes beta, and the soon to be announced Lock-up Program!
