1. The price of ethereum continues to crash, falling more than 30 percent in the past week to reach an 18-month low. Ethereum was down more than 8 percent early Wednesday to $169.12 per coin. That is the lowest the coin has been since May of 2017. Mati Greenspan, an analyst with eToro, said ethereum is following the same trend as the rest of the cryptocurrency market, but added that Vitalik Buterin's recent comments that the days of massive growth in the cryptocurrency were likely over might have spooked investors. –BUSINESS INSIDER

2. Bitcoin's market dominance continues to climb as the price of altcoins continue to plunge. The percent of bitcoin's dominance reached 56.9 percent on Tuesday, its highest since December 16 of last year. That was the day before bitcoin reached its all-time high of $20,000. This comes as the market capitalization of cryptocurrencies dropped to $191 billion, its lowest total since early November. The crypto market has lost about 20 percent of its value over the past week. –COIN TELEGRAPH

3. The cryptocurrency crash of 2018 is now worse than the dot-com bubble burst of 2000. After virtual currencies continued to decline on Wednesday, the MVIS CryptoCompare Digital Assets 10 Index has dropped 80 percent since January. That is more than the Nasdaq Composite Index's 78 percent peak-to-trough decline in 2000. –FORTUNE

4. Some cryptocurrency exchanges have implemented controversial practices to stay profitable as trading volumes continue to decrease. Bitcoinist looks at some of these methods, which include variable listing fees, or requiring new coin owners to bring tens of thousands of new registered users. The use of these methods has grown as cryptocurrency trading volume is down 80 percent from its high last January. –BITCOINIST

7. Cryptocurrency has become a major plot point in a British soap opera, Coronation Street. In the show, watched daily by eight million people, a character purchased "whipcoin" years ago only to see it recently skyrocket in value. –FORBES

8. Bitcoin's price drop this year reminds one analyst of 2015. The market hit a bottom that September before seeing a bullish reversal. –COINDESK

9. Bitcoin.com's wallet was taken down from Google Play, at least temporarily. Unsurprisingly, discussion around the news turned to Bitcoin.com head Roger Ver. –REDDIT'

10. Bitcoin bulls really do not want to see the coin drop below $6,000. If it crosses that threshold, it could continue to drop – a lot. –BLOOMBERG
