1. Gary Cohn, the former White House Economic advisor, will join blockchain startup Spring Labs as an advisor. The company uses blockchain technology to share credit data between banks. Cohn, who left the Trump administration in March, said he has watched blockchain technology for years and believes it could have a transformational effect on the financial industry. –CNBC

2. Bithumb, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea, has sold a stake in the firm for more than $350 million. The exchange sold 38 percent of its total ownership to BK Global Consortium, a blockchain investment firm based in Singapore. The deal will make BK Global the biggest controller of Bithumb when the transaction is complete. BTC Holdings Company, which owns Bithumb, has previously sold equity in the company to other investors. –COINDESK

3. Economist Nouriel Roubini gave Congress a scathing review of cryptocurrencies during testimony Tuesday. "Crypto is the mother or father of all scams and bubbles," Roubini told the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Community Affairs. He said late last year scammers tapped into the FOMO of largely financially illiterate investors with "scammy crappy assets" without any real value. –BLOOMBERG

4. Litecoin will be tradable on the Gemini exchange starting next week. The digital coin will only be the fourth to be listed on the highly regulated exchange, joining bitcoin, ethereum, and Zcash. Gemini also planned to launch support for bitcoin cash next week, but has delayed that action because of the uncertainty surrounding an upcoming hard fork. –CRYPTO GLOBE
