1. Bitcoin traded in a range of just $1,500 in September, its narrowest monthly trading range since July 2017. Prices oscillated between $6,100 and $7,429 during the month. The volatility was helped, in a way, by low trading volume. September marked the lowest trading volume since April 2017. While some believe this could be the calm before a storm, there are others that think October will be pretty boring. –COINDESK

2. Wyoming lawmakers are considering legislation that would create a cryptocurrency bank to serve blockchain firms in the state. The state has opened itself to the cryptocurrency community, hoping to attract new businesses. The bank would receive a regulatory safe harbor. A state blockchain task force made up of lawmakers and technical appointees are working to see what that legislation could look like. –CCN

3. Ethereum cofounder Joe Lubin has invested $6.5 million in a former competitor. Lubin's ConsenSys blockchain startup has purchased a minority stake in DrumG, a company founded by R3, one of ethereum blockchain's most heavily funded competitors. –FORBES

4. A Brazilian programmer has developed a vending machine that allows customers to purchase soda with bitcoin. The system uses the Lightning Network to quickly process transactions. The machine is in the experimental stages and was built using off-the-shelf materials like a Raspberry Pi, water pump, touch screen, some wood, and the developer's ingenuity. –THE NEXT WEB
