Kin news MonkingMe Joins the Kin Ecosystem Spain-based MonkingMe joined the Kin Ecosystem this month, giving music lovers and artists the chance to earn Kin in the app. The MonkingMe and Kin teams joined up for a Meetup in Barcelona earlier in the month to kick off the partnership. Kin responds to Facebook's Libra announcement As the first social platform to launch a cryptocurrency, media outlets reached out to Kin for its take on Facebook's Libra announcement. The media attention provided Kin with welcome exposure as a decentralized network as compared to the tech giant's Libra. Check out some of the coverage on Modern Consensus and Cheddar. Kik fights back--SEC v. Kik update Kik publicized its response to the SEC's complaint. The story was covered by various media outlets including TechCrunch, CoinDesk and the Financial Times. The Kin Foundation interviewed Eileen Lyon, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Kik interactive, about the case.  Unity certifies the Kin SDK Unity officially certified the Kin SDK for both iOS and Android this month, marking a significant milestone. The Ecosystem Directory found in our Reddit community was also updated. Kin developers The Kin Crypto Challenge launches on Devpost The Kin Crypto Challenge launched on Devpost on August 14th. Registration is open! We're calling on all mobile developers to take the Kin Crypto Challenge and build creative and addictive peer-to-peer Kin Experiences. If you were contemplating starting a project or know someone you think should take the challenge, please share or register today. Wrapping up previous programs:  KDP2: 20 apps went live with the second Kin Developer Program. Developers tools The new Kin Product Playbook went live with some important updates. What's new? P2P experiences and One UX project insights and assets.The Kin developers Discord channel launched this month. Read all about it here. Will Gikandi's final installments of the "Building a Kin-powered app with Unity" tutorial series went up on the Kin Blog. Kin Developers Best Practices toolkit - New onboarding documentation for partners was released. Check it out for guidance on optimizing users' introduction to Kin.  Kin Blockchain New Blockchain dashboard The brand new Blockchain dashboard went live. Read more about it on the Kin blog. Horizon Minor Version (V.2.1.0) released The Blockchain squad released a new version of Horizon. Check out the details here. KRE The long-awaited Kin Rewards Engine (KRE) Weekly Payout page went live with a display of the KRE payout time frame and the total payout for each app. The table also displays a record of all previous payouts. We introduced Valid Spend guidelines and the KRE's focus on peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions and tourism across the Ecosystem. Case studies: Nearby and Tapatalk Kin published two new case studies, with partners Nearby and Tapatalk. Read more about the success both Nearby and Tapatalk have experienced after integrating Kin.
