The Argentina Football Association has launched a cryptocurrency for its virtual league. Dubbed the AFA Virtual Coin (AFAVC), its aim is to help grow the football federation's esports venture. As an ERC-20 token that runs on the Ethereum blockchain, the AFA describes the virtual coin as an "investment" that will help to finance projects, including player training and the construction of stadiums, among others. One billion tokens have been minted with plans to sell them at $1 each. DIARIOHOY

The Litecoin Foundation and video game maker Atari are joining forces ahead of the launch of the Atari token. Atari's token is projected to launch in September 2020 and will be used to track digital assets and manage purchases within the Atari ecosystem. As part of the partnership with the Litecoin Foundation, Litecoin will be an accepted payment method into the token and will be an option for the new Atari VCS game console at a discount. Charlie Lee, managing director of the Litecoin Foundation, said that "it's great" that Litecoin is being used in a number of ways within Atari.
