PayPal has revealed it's developing crypto capabilities, according to a letter submitted to the European Commission. Originally submitted in March, the payments company said that it is "monitoring the evolution of the crypto-asset space" and that it had taken steps to "develop its capabilities in this area." PayPal pointed out its relationship with crypto assets, in particular its connection with the Libra Association, which it stepped away from four months after it was announced in June 2019. Crypto exchange Binance has unveiled its debit card in Europe and the U.K. Known as the Binance Card, it is powered by Visa debit card platform Swipe and will allow users to pay with crypto at over 60 million merchants across 200 regions. Binance Card will support payments with Bitcoin, Binance Coin, Swipe's native token, and Binance USD stablecoin. Users from the European Economic Area (EEA) will be able to apply for the card in August, with those in the U.K. "shortly thereafter," Binance said. More: Earlier this month, Binance said it had completed the acquisition of Swipe, with the aim of furthering mainstream crypto adoption. Yesterday, Binance announced that its stablecoin Binance USD had hit $1bn in purchase volume, just 260 days after it launched. BINANCE

Blockchain is already changing industries, according to the head of the Blockchain Research Institute, Don Tapscott. He said that the technology is reshaping the finance and healthcare services. In particular, he thinks that the blockchain can help fight pandemics because it can be used to process technology for patient records. Tapscott said that healthcare will be a "killer app" for blockchain because people "care about their health." Crypto exchange Coincheck has added support for BAT tokens. Monex Group, the owner of Coincheck, said that the exchange will make Brave’s Basic Attention Token (BAT) available for trading July 21. This will be the 13th token added to Coincheck, the others being Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum Classic, Lisk, XRP, Factom, NEM, Litecoin, MonaCoin, Stellar, and Qtum.  MEDIUM
