SEC v. Ripple Update: The SEC filed a motion to retrieve terabytes of Ripple Labs’ internal Slack messages. The emergency motion stated that Ripple’s failure to deliver the messages was already "highly prejudicial." More: Some Slack messages were provided per a discovery request for internal communications. However, Ripple claimed that it was the result of a processing error. Ripple admitted to leaving out Slack communications due to the massive file size. Ripple previously received approval from the court to depose an SEC official who played a key role in defining the status of cryptocurrencies.

Poly Network was targeted by a cross-chain attack resulting in the loss of $611M. The hack was the largest DeFi hack to date. More: Poly Network is a cross-chain protocol that lets users swap tokens across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ontology, and other blockchains. Hackers made away with $273M in ETH, $253M in BNB, and $85M in USDC on the Polygon network. Poly has threatened legal action and publicly released the hacker’s addresses to be blacklisted by exchanges.

🍋Fresh Funding🍋 CoinDCX, Crypto Exchange: $90M ⮕ The Series C funding round was led by B Capital with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Polychain Capital, Block.one, Jump Capital, and others. More: CoinDCX is the first India-based exchange to reach unicorn status after recieving a post-funding valuation of $1.1B. The exchange previously raised $13.9M in a Series B funding round back in January. CoinDCX plans to use the fresh funding to expand its user base, grow its operations, and keep up with the growing demand for crypto trading in India.

🍋Fresh Funding🍋 Liquality, Crypto Wallet: $7M ⮕ The seed funding round was led by Hashed and Galaxy Digital with participation from White Star Capital, Accomplice, Coinbase, Ventures, Alameda Research, and others. More: Liquality is a browser-based, multi-chain wallet offering peer-to-peer atomic swaps among users. The project started as part of ConsenSys’s incubator program but has since spun out and plans to launch its own DAO.
