 The Tokyo District Court is expected to allow Mt. Gox creditors to recover over $9B worth of BTC. The terms were outlined in a rehabilitation plan document set up for victims who lost money in the infamous 2014 Mt. Gox hack. More: - On Feb. 25, 2014, Mt. Gox allegedly lost 744,400 BTC, worth $350M at the time. Three days later, the bitcoin exchange filed for bankruptcy, admitting that all funds on the exchange went missing.
- At the time, the fallout from Mt. Gox caused bitcoin's price to drop 50%, down to $400 from $800.
- According to the document, creditors will be able to recover around 90% of their assets from the exchange.
- The confirmation order is expected to become binding in approximately one month.

According to Coinbase, the deal aims to increase awareness around blockchain technology and the crypto exchange.
