The FBI is warning of hackers building fake cryptocurrency apps. This hacking campaign has managed to breach over 244 victims so far. More: - These attacks began as early as Dec. 2021, when hackers managed to steal at least $3.7M from their victims, as they are mainly targeting investors.
- The threat actors used phishing as a vector, convincing targets to download the fake app and enter their payment information. The hackers used government institution logos to make the apps look more believable.
- This hacking campaign continued throughout the last two years, resulting in numerous other scams that led to users losing over $10M.

Researchers have tracked new spyware targeting Apple users named CloudMensis. The spyware uses cloud services such as pCloud, Yandex Disk, and Dropbox. More: - The spyware deletes traces of its exploitation by taking advantage of multiple Safari browser bugs.
- CloudMensis overrides Apple's TCC security protocol as well as CVE-2020-9934, enabling the hacker to capture screenshots, access call logs, gain remote control, etc.
- Apple has acknowledged the fact that a hacking campaign is affecting its users, with the company recently announcing its lockdown mode feature as a countermeasure.
- The spyware was tracked by a research company in Slovakia, while Apple did not specifically address the issue.

British cybersecurity company Darktrace Plc has stated that it is raising its profit margin forecast to about 19.5%. The decision comes as companies are investing more in cybersecurity due to recent world events.
