1. The price of bitcoin dropped below $8,000 per coin Tuesday morning, its lowest price in a week. Despite the drop so far today bitcoin has still seen 22 percent growth this month. 2. US Securities and Exchange Commissioner (SEC) Hester Peirce has become a celebrity in the crypto community. Peirce recently dissented with the SEC's disapproval of a proposed rule change that would have allowed for the creation of a new ETF. The rule change was proposed by the Winklevoss Bitcoin Trust. Peirce not only disagreed with her fellow commissioners, but also said the SEC has failed to apply legislative standards properly, as they apply to bitcoin. -BITCOINIST

3. Bitmain had $1.1 billion in profits during the first quarter of this year. The company has revealed plans to hold an initial public offering in the near future. The profit numbers were not publicly released but came from a leaked email from a source close to the company. Bitmain recently raised $400 million in its latest funding round, valuing the company at approximately $14 billion. -FORTUNE

4. The Dubai International Financial Centre Court has teamed with Smart Dubai to create a blockchain system to aid verification of court judgments for cross-border enforcement. Dubbed as the world's first "Court of the Blockchain," the partnership is seen as the first step toward creating a blockchain-powered judicial system. 5. Gibraltar United, a member of Gibraltar's Premier Division, will pay its players – at least in part – in cryptocurrency, the team's owner announced. It was not specified what type of cryptocurrency the players would receive.
