1. There is a growing fear that the re-introduction of more than $1 billion in bitcoin from Mt. Gox will crash that market. The exchange has initialized a process to return 160,000 bitcoin that have been frozen for more than four years. A trustee for Mt. Gox has been authorized to return the coins by Valentine's Day. There is belief that many of the coin owners will sell upon receiving their payout, potentially sending the price of bitcoin plummeting in the process. –FINANCE MAGNATES

2. A Chinese woman will attempt to live on 0.21 bitcoin for 21 days. The amount is equivalent to $1,350, but the woman will only make purchases in bitcoin. That includes everything from food and proper accommodation to life necessities. She started the project only with the bitcoin on a wallet on her phone. She is chronicling the challenge for iQiyi, one of China's Netflix equivalents. –NEWS BTC

3. MovieCoin wants to bring the blockchain to Hollywood. The new coin, which just announced a public presale, allows users to invest in movies and other entertainment projects. The coin was created by Christopher Woodrow, a producer on such films as Hacksaw Ridge and Black Mass. MovieCoin will work as a crowdfunding platform, but also provide a way for users to purchase tickets and other entertainment offerings, such as exclusive viewings or meet-and-greets with creators. –VENTURE BEAT

4. Mthuli Ncube, Zimbabwe's new finance minister, wants the country to embrace bitcoin at the state level in a manner similar to Switzerland. "Zimbabwe should be investing in understanding innovations and often central banks are too slow in investing in these technologies," he said. Zimbabwe citizens have turned to bitcoin in recent months as the country's currency has suffered from hyperinflation. –COIN TELEGRAPH
