1. Vitalik Buterin has no intention of quitting the Ethereum Foundation. Buterin's future has been the cause of speculation in recent months after he asked his Twitter followers if he should work at Google. The speculation grew over the weekend after he responded to a question about how he would detach himself from the project. He tweeted "already in progress," leading many to believe he was out the door. However, Buterin took to Twitter later to clarify, saying things are in progress for the Ethereum Foundation not to need him – not that he was leaving. –AMB CRYPTO

2. RSK has created a sidechain that will allow bitcoin to host ICOs. RSK has been working on its smart contract sidechain for bitcoin for more than two years. The code is written in Solidity, the same dominant language as ethereum. The project has been released in beta and Temco, a South Korea-based blockchain startup, has said it plans to use the technology to hold an ICO in November. –COINDESK

3. The number of mined empty blocks on the ethereum blockchain has increased six times since September. That has also been a rise in "empties" produced by the Bitmain-controlled Antpool mining pool, including 12 alone on October 5. The reasons for the spike are unknown. Speculation has ranged from underhanded tactics by mining operations to increase profits to a simple statistical anomaly. –ETHEREUM WORLD NEWS

4. Eric Brakey, a Republican candidate for Senate in Maine, has said he would discuss clemency for Ross Ulbricht with President Trump if elected. Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road, is four years into a double life sentence. There is a community that believes the sentence as cruel and unusual, and violates Ulbricht's fourth and sixth amendments. –BITCOINIST
