æpps UX Testing, Proof of Fraud, Meme Competition and More!

Dear æternity community,

The work on the æternity protocol continues at full speed. According to an analysis by Santiment, the æternity dev team is one of the most active in the industry. The æpps team is also hard at work, running UX testing on the æpps and setting up the token migration process. The marketing team is pushing forward as well with webinars, blog posts and competitions. We are all getting ready for the major milestone in the history of the æternity movement - Mainnet launch. Super exciting times are ahead!

Have a look at some of the most compelling news in September:

Mining AE on Ubuntu

This month we prepared a detailed tutorial on how to start mining AE on the æternity Testnet and how to be equipped to mine AE once the Mainnet launches. If you experience any issues or have questions, let us know in the Forum. We plan to announce a bounty for a Windows miner and guide in October, so stay tuned.

#BerlinBlockchainWeek Workshops

The German capital was home to a whole week of blockchain-dedicated events in September. We decided to bring the team together and host development and marketing workshops at the same time. We also organized a meetup and a party. Take a look at this colorful photo album for an insider perspective on all these.

Two New Webinars

Last month, members of the æternity team participated in two webinars. One was dedicated to developers and the other to blockchain applications in enterprise. Michal from the dev team discussed the evolution of æternity consensus engine, while Vlad provided his perspective on private/permissioned blockchains. Both make for an interesting video!

September Content

The æternity team shared more great content in September. We are starting a new series of blog posts dedicated to the advantages of blockchain applications! The title of the series is "Can Blockchain Win?" and the first blog posts will be focused on decentralized social media. An insightful piece on the future of mining was also shared with the community - Can ASIC production be decentralized? Finally, Ulf Wiger, one of the most senior members of the dev team, shared his thoughts on Erlang, democracy and disruption in a short interview. Expect more excellent content in October!

Development and æpp Updates

In September the æpp developers focused on the Python SDK, performing UX tests on the Base æpp and token migration (user guide to come soon!). The dev team was super busy integrating Proof of Fraud in Bitcoin-NG, introducing scalability enhancements, improving consensus, state channels, sync, the VM, and Sophia. You can find details on all dev updates here. The Mainnet is coming!

Meme Competition on Reddit

Work and fun make for a healthy balance. With that in mind, we organized a fun meme competition on Reddit. Have a look at all the entries and up-vote any that you like. The winning meme will be announced in October!
