1. The price of bitcoin continues to drop. The coin's price threatened to drop below $5,000 on Monday. Major altcoins have struggled as well with ethereum, litecoin and bitcoin cash down more than 10 percent, while ripple was down nearly four percent. The total value of all cryptocurrencies now stands at $171 billion, down more than $10 billion from Friday. –MARKET WATCH

2. The bitcoin cash hash war continued through the weekend. Jimmy Nguyen, CEO of nChain, recently said that a hash burst on Bitcoin Cash ABC was rented or subsidized from the BTC network to inflate results. Miners are currently voting between Bitcoin Cash ABC and Bitcoin Cash SV. Nguyen believed it is hypocrisy for miners to move hash for a day or two from a rival network and then use that to claim victory. –AMB CRYPTO

3. Bear markets are good for at least one thing: Memes. Bitcoin Twitter has used memes to at least laugh through some of the pain of last week's downturn. Some of the most popular memes include Hide the Pain Harold, Non-Playable Character (or NPC), and a number of different Bingo cards. –BITCOIN.COM

4. Switzerland has approved a bitcoin ETF. The fund, which trades under the symbol $HODL, will begin trading on the county's Six Swiss Exchange beginning this week. Nearly half of the fund will be invested in bitcoin, while the rest will be put into bitcoin cash, XRP, ethereum and litecoin. Amun Crypto, a fintech company based in the United Kingdom, is offering the ETF. –BITCOINIST
