Some long dormant bitcoin wallets moved more than $1 billion in bitcoin in less than a day. The transactions came from five of the 36 largest known cryptocurrency wallets and each showed millions of dollars being moved at a time. Even more strange, the wallets had largely lain dormant – some as much as four years. While there is no confirm explanation, the larger wallets had divided the funds into smaller sub-wallets. In other whale news, large-scale ethereum holders have grown their holdings even more this year. Despite ethereum's substantial price drop this year, ethereum whales nearly doubled the number of ethereum coins they own.
