1. Bitcoin has started December much like it ended November. The world's largest cryptocurrency was down more than 8 percent on Monday, hitting a low of $3,790.96 per coin. Other top coins, including XRP and ether, also saw significant losses. Overall, the cryptocurrency market has lost about 80 percent of its market capitalization this year and seen its trading volumes drop 56 percent. -CNBC

2. A lot of litecoin has been on the move lately. Last Friday, trades moved $1.1 billion of the coin, representing about 60 percent of its total market cap. A significant portion of the amount moved came from a single entity with more than 40 large wallets containing more than 300,000 coins each. There are rumors that Bakkt or Fidelity initiated the transactions, but that has yet to be confirmed. –TODAY'S GAZETTE

3. As mining operations continue to shut down, Argo Blockchain in the United Kingdom has reported record profits. The company, which offers its devices on a subscription basis, said it has seen 146 percent growth since October. The increase in activity comes as the price of bitcoin has continued to plummet, making mining unprofitable for a number of operations. –COINGAPE

4. Bitcoin has now been declared dead 328 times since its launch in 2009. The number comes from the "Obituary Tracker" on 99bitcoins that logs every time a prominent person says bitcoin is dead. The most recent eulogy came from Paul Donovan, the chief economist at UBS, who said in a speech he was going to bury bitcoin, not praise it. Negative statements like these are more likely to occur with bitcoin's price dropping. This will be the fourth time since the coin's creation, though, that it has lost more than 80 percent of its value. –ETHEREUM WORLD NEWS
