Kinfo December Edition: One Kin Blockchain, Kin Developer Program apps live, new partners, and more!

Image

Welcome to Kinfo, your monthly digest of all things Kin!

November was a busy month for Kin! We announced a new blockchain strategy that will allow us to migrate to a single blockchain, forked from Stellar, in order to simplify our underlying technology and connection to exchanges. We will also launch a native Kin token, eliminating the need for a swap mechanism to transfer between our ERC-20 token and our Stellar token.

The Kin Ecosystem continued its growth, with 27 Kin Developer Program apps going live with real Kin experiences. Twenty-three apps are live only on Android, two are only on iOS, and two are live on both platforms! Survey platform Swelly also introduced native Kin-powered experiences in its own Android and iOS apps, and the leading augmented reality beauty platform, Perfect365, launched new ways to earn and spend Kin. Last week, we announced a new partnership with Tapatalk, a mobile-first app for forum owners that is used by over 200,000 forums in 186 countries. In the coming months, they will integrate Kin to deepen user engagement in the app.

We also released a new version of Kinit, the first publicly available app dedicated to Kin, on Android and iOS. Users will notice new earn experiences and gift card limitations that are in place to minimize spam.

We're migrating to a single blockchain with a native Kin token

November 14, 2018

Our blockchain strategy is evolving in order to simplify the technology and its connection to exchanges. Instead of running on both Ethereum and our custom fork of Stellar, we will soon migrate to a single blockchain (our custom fork), and launch a native Kin token. There is no action needed at this time, and we will provide updates as they become available.

Twenty-seven apps have gone live through the Kin Developer Program

November 16, 2018

We accepted 40 developers into the Kin Developer Program in August, and in October, 32 were given the opportunity to continue on in the program. So far, 27 have gone live on at least one app store, offering native Kin experiences to users all over the world!

Survey platform Swelly launched native Kin-powered experiences on Android and iOS

November 19, 2018

In July, we partnered with Swelly to provide earning experiences in Kinit, the first publicly available app dedicated to Kin. They've taken Kin-powered experiences one step further and integrated Kin into their own apps on iOS and Android.
