1. BitTorrent has officially launched its $BTT token and its crowdfunding platform on the Binance Launch Pad. The token, which is offered by the BitTorrent Foundation, features native TRC-10 compatibility. It will be exclusively available to accounts outside of the United States. BTT will be the second project on the Binance Launchpad, which allows transformative blockchain startups to raise funds to further develop projects, joining Fetch.AI. –ETHEREUM WORLD NEWS

2. Proof of Keys, the movement to withdraw bitcoins from online exchanges to test the marketplace, officially launched on Thursday. The project acts as an old-fashioned bank run where floods of people withdraw their money from a bank, worried the institution will go under. Proof of Keys, started by bitcoin podcast host Trace Mayer, could potentially expose exchanges that work like fractional-reserve banks. A number of prominent cryptocurrency community members including Symbiont president Caitlin Long and Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan, have put the Proof of Keys symbol in their Twitter profiles. –COINDESK

3. Online retailer Overstock will pay part of its Ohio state business tax in bitcoin. Ohio unveiled last year a portal called OhioCrypto, which lets companies pay taxes using major cryptocurrencies. It makes sense that Overstock, which is transitioning to a cryptocurrency-focused company, would pay with that method. The company will pay its Commercial Activity Tax, which applies to business with more than $150,000 in receipts in the state. –FORTUNE

4. An exchange opening next week will allow investors to trade stocks of companies like Apple, Facebook and Tesla on the blockchain. Known as DX.Exchange, the Estonia-based company will offer digital tokens based on 10 Nasdaq-listed companies. Each digital security will be backed with one regular share. Holders will be entitled to the same cash dividends, even though the companies themselves are not involved. –BLOOMBERG
