Another week of innovation & development at Komodo

Komodo Platform Updates
August 16, 2019

It's been another week of fast-paced innovation and development at Komodo. Here's a roundup of all the things going on at Komodo and within the ecosystem.

KOMODO PLATFORM UPDATES

-- The Komodo Dev Team is continuing to test and experiment with the newly-developed nSPV technology, which is a superlight blockchain client up to 1000 times faster than existing SPV implementations. You can learn more about it in this informative long-form blog post on nSPV.

-- Because nSPV superlight clients are so remarkably efficient, they only require 1.5 MB of disk space and 3 MB of RAM. This makes it possible for all sorts of electronic devices and appliances-- watches, headphones, e-readers, TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, vending machines-- to run multi-coin wallets. Check out this thread from HUSH Lead Dev Duke Leto to learn more.

-- Development on AtomicDEX is still progressing and the Komodo Dev Team is continually fixing minor bugs and improving the user experience. This week, version 0.1.6 of AtomicDEX was released for both Android and iOS. The team is preparing for a stress test, which will take place at the end of August. Details will be released next week. If you haven't already registered, you can sign up for the AtomicDEX beta here.

-- Komodo Lead Dev James 'jl777' Lee and Zawy, an electrical engineer and physicist, continue to improve upon Adaptive Proof of Work (APoW), a variation on ordinary Proof of Work (PoW) rules that is almost completely resistant to difficulty stranding attacks. To learn more about diff stranding attacks and the APoW solution, check out this great blog post that Komodo published this week.

-- NOWPayments integrated KMD this week. NOWPayments is a new branch of the well-known company ChangeNOW that allows vendors to easily accept a number of different digital assets in exchange for goods and services.

A WORD FROM THE C-SUITE

"First of all, AtomicDEX is Komodo's own decentralized exchange technology. AtomicDEX itself is basically the third generation DEX technology. We've been developing this for almost a half decade. The technology is very, very promising."   -- Komodo CTO Kadan 'ca333' Stadelmann

KOMODO ECOSYSTEM UPDATES

This week, The Daily Chain published an excellent interview with Verus Coin Lead Dev Mike Toutonghi.

"The vision is public blockchains as a service that can benefit everyone and make a better society with blockchain, and as corny as that sounds, it's actually true. It's all reflected in what we're doing-- we're not trying to hype, we're trying to make this real." -- Mike Toutonghi

Crypto Adventure published an overview of the HempCoin project, which recently migrated to an Antara Smart Chain.

"HempTRAC is a blockchain solution that has been developed by the HempCoin team to provide a real-time data storage platform right from growth, distribution, and consumption of hemp products. ... This technology is the first of its kind and all of its records are stored on the immutable blockchain distributed ledger which is secured by both the Komodo Ecosystem and the ever-secure Bitcoin network."

Utrum has released the beta version of their product suite, which allows users to provide reviews of blockchain projects, technical analysis of digital assets, price predictions, how-to guides, and other types of useful content. Users can receive coins for contributing content and the wider community can review other users' content to help peers decide what information is most helpful.
