The Libra Association has hired Credit Suisse executive Sterling Daines to serve as its chief compliance officer. The organization said Daines will step down from his role at the investment bank and join the Libra Association later this year. He currently serves as managing director and global head of financial crime compliance for Credit Suisse. He previously worked as managing director and deputy head of financial crime compliance at Goldman Sachs. The appointment of Daines follows the addition of Stuart Levey as CEO and Robert Werner as General Counsel last month. LIBRA

Blockchain scalability platform Matic has announced its staking testnet and mainnet will take place in June. Matic said that staking UI will be available publicly on testnet June 15. The Matic mainnet is expected to go live on or before June 29. As per a statement from the platform, beginning June 15, they will begin a staking education initiative, which will give the community a chance to experience live staking on the testnet, with over 110 validators. Public deposits and withdrawals for end-users using the Matic Web Wallet is expected to go live soon too. The exact date will be provided by June 12. Designed as an off/side chain layer two scaling solution, Matic uses the Plasma framework and a network of proof-of-stake (PoS) validators. MATIC
