Layer-2 Ethereum scaling solution Polygon (MATIC) has eliminated C-suite positions such as CEO and COO. The C-suite removal comes as such titles prove, in the minds of its founders, incompatible with Polygon's push toward decentralization. More: - Polygon's cofounders who also serve as the firm's CEO and COO, Jaynti Kanani and Sandeep Nailwal, removed those positions from their respective LinkedIn profiles.
- Kanani's and Nailwal's functional responsibilities remain unchanged.
- The move comes as more and more web3 companies like Coinbase have done away with their headquarters in favor of decentralization.
- Other firms, like Binance, have done the opposite for different reasons. The exchange is in the process of setting up a headquarters to appease regulators.
In related news: - Elon Musk claims that CEO is, in reality, only a made-up title, preferring TechnoKing instead. Watch Musk's WSJ interview here.
