The operators behind the Earth Bogle hacking campaign are trying to hack Middle Eastern and African countries using NjRAT. The campaign uses phishing as a threat vector. More: - NjRAT is a malware campaign that has been active since 2013.
- The malware is likely spread via files shared on social media, mostly Facebook and Discord.
- Once the victim clicks on the infected link, a Visual Basic Script begins deploying a payload that eventually leads to a PowerShell script loading a RAT.
- The RAT can be used to steal important information from servers, take screenshots, manipulate files, etc.
- According to researchers, the malware was particularly difficult to be tracked from virus scanners.
- Government institutions are believed to be the main target of this campaign.
