Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, has defended the platform's contract with the U.S. Secret Service. Last week, it was reported that the crypto exchange has agreed to provide its blockchain analytics software, Coinbase Analytics, to the U.S. federal agency under a deal worth $183,750. After the deal was criticized, Armstrong tweeted that blockchain software analytics has long been used to track crypto transactions and criminals. Armstrong said that the contract will help build relationships with law enforcement, which is important for the growth of crypto. Kraken CEO Jesse Powell said his company did not develop its own analytics software or invest in analytics firms to prevent a conflict of interest with their clients. @BRIAN_ARMSTRONG/TWITTER | |
