Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin issued a new proposal for a multidimensional EIP-1559. If passed, the proposal would affect the gas fee market and change fees charged based on activities and resources used. More: - EIP-1559 was launched in August as a token burning mechanism that was set out to make gas fees more predictable.
- Vitalik believes that the current system established by EIP-1559 efficiently handles resources in the Ethereum Virtual Machine by failing to consider the limits for the different resources.
- Under the multidimensional EIP-1559, gas prices would be calculated either through an equation of base fees and resource units or by setting a fixed base fee for specific resource use instances.
