Updates & Developments The Komodo Obsidian Dragon update to version 0.5.0 of the code base will activate in roughly ten hours, at block height 1,670,000. The update to version 0.5.0 of the Komodo software is mandatory for all exchanges, miners, and other individuals running a full node. If you run a full node and have not yet updated, please do so immediately. Those who do not update prior to block 1670000 will not run on the correct network. Back in August, Komodo announced that Lead Developer James 'jl777' Lee had developed a new and exponentially more efficient method for Simple Payment Verification (SPV). This new technology is called notarized simple payment verification, or nSPV for short. This week, Komodo Dev Documentation Writer Guru Charan Gupta published an excellent follow-up blog post about how the Komodo team is advancing nSPV technology, including integrating nSPV to the Antara Framework and developing static HTML wallets. This week, Komodo wrote blockchain history once again with the world's first fully-automated cross-chain atomic swap between Tezos (XTZ) and Ether (ETH). This means that another blockchain protocol is now compatible with AtomicDEX and will soon be available for atomic swaps with almost all BTC-protocol coins, as well as almost all Ethereum-based assets like ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens. Komodo published two more educational posts in the Blockchain Fundamentals content series: one about Equihash, the hashing algorithm that the Komodo blockchain uses, and another about peer-to-peer networks, the network infrastructure that makes blockchain technology possible.
In recent weeks, the Komodo Marketing Team has focused on making the website available in various world languages, including Chinese and Turkish.
