US Markets Stock futures were flat overnight after falling on Thursday. - Lyft lost more than 30% overnight following the release of lower-than-expected earnings after the closing bell.
- Expedia and Paypal were also down after missing their expectations.

Canadian Markets Recreational marijuana company Canopy Growth plans to restructure its Canadian operations to reduce costs. - The company will cut approximately 35% of its workforce, or 800 employees, and reduce its cannabis cultivation and production businesses.
- It will cut the number of products it sells in Canada by 50% to focus on high-margin products, including flower, pre-rolls, soft gels, and oils.
- This week Canopy said it made $101M in revenue in its fiscal third quarter, a 28% drop from a year earlier.
- Canopy said it is awaiting shareholder approval to open a U.S. subsidiary.

European Markets European Markets were up on Thursday with almost all sectors rising on the day. - The Stoxx 600 gained 0.6% on the day, led by a 1.7% rise in industrial stocks.
- Credit Suisse shares were down 15% after the bank reported a loss.
- Standard Chartered rose 11% following rumors that the British bank could be taken over by First Abu Dhabi Bank.

Asian Markets Stocks in Asia are mixed on Friday as investors react to local economic data. - Consumer prices in China are up 2.1% year over year, slightly below the 2.2% expected by economists.
- Australia's central bank said it plans to continue to raise interest rates as inflation remains high.
- The Hang Seng, Shanghai Composite, and Shenzhen Component are all down on the day.

Commodities Oil prices fell on Thursday and early on Friday morning. - Brent crude was down 0.7% and US West Texas Intermediate was down 0.5% on Thursday.
- Stronger demand for oil in China continues to provide upward pressure on prices but not enough to lift prices up.
- The destructive earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria sent oil prices up this week amid fears that the devastation would disrupt oil supplies.
- Concerns about more interest rate hikes also put upward pressure on prices in recent days.
- Both Brent and U.S. West Texas Intermediate have gained approximately 5% this week.
- U.S. stock crude piles reached their highest level since June 2021, at 445.1 million barrels.

- Fed President Thomas Barkin said that monetary policy in the U.S. is "unequivocally" slowing down the country's growth.
- The Japanese Yen was down as the country's government prepares to announce the nominees for the next Governor of the Bank of Japan.
