Dear æternity community, The development of æternity's blockchain continued throughout June with two releases being completed and announced. The implementation of Bitcoin-NG is ongoing and the protocol will soon be introduced to the Testnet.  The æpps team continued to make improvements to æternity's applications. The porting of æpps is ongoing and the team is in close contact with æternity's core developers to stay updated with the latest Mainnet progress. æternity's Starfleet Incubator started the selection process of the most promising startups in the blockchain sphere. Ten great projects were selected to continue their participation in the pre-accelerator program during the first Demo Day. Many useful links below! æternity Starfleet's "First 10" The first Starfleet Demo Day was organized on June 16, 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Seventeen projects from around the had the opportunity to present their ideas and try to continue their Starfleet pre-acceleration journey. Ten projects succeeded to impress the judges and are currently fine-tuning their business models for the second Demo Day which will take place on July 14, 2018. To provide answers to some of the most common questions received from the community, æternity's marketing team prepared three brand new FAQs and updated the one in the blog. ACCESS THE FAQs æternity at the United Nations æternity blockchain had the honor of presenting its technology to a panel at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna, Austria. During his trip Julio Alejandro, æternity's Global Ambassador, addressed a panel comprised of diplomats, members of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and European Commission directors. Read more about his experience in the blog. ÆT THE UNITED NATIONS Sophia Smart Contract Tutorial æternity's Mainnet will launch with Sophia's smart contract language running on the AEVM. In order to help decentralized app developers to quickly get to speed with Sophia's syntax (derived from OCaml/ReasonML), the æpps team published a detailed tutorial. Access it by clicking below. SOPHIA TUTORIAL Development Updates In June the dev team focused on Bitcoin-NG, making smart contracts work with state channels, improving the security, sync and efficiency of the network and prepared a strategy for Mainnet launch. ALL DEVELOPMENT UPDATES æpp Updates Last month, æternity's æpps team introduced UX improvements to the Messenger æpp by incorporating an utility widget and started testing æpps on Android. They also improved the security of the Base æpp by introducing a "social recovery" option. In addition, there was a new team addition.
