1. With its most recent spike, bitcoin reached $11,381 per coin - its highest price in 15 months. Bitcoin was up more than 4 percent on the day. Josh Rager, a crypto investor and trader, highlighted a key fact of this recent rally: While bitcoin continues to grow, the altcoin market has remained relatively flat. Bitcoin now makes up more than 60 percent of the value of the crypto market, its highest dominance level since late 2017. - CRYPTO CURRENCY NEWS

2. The U.S. House Financial Services Committee will host a hearing on July 17 focused on Facebook's Libra. The hearing will take place one day after the Senate Banking Committee holds its hearing on the coin. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) who has been outspoken against Facebook Libra chairs the house committee. In an interview with CNBC last Thursday, Waters said, "We've got to protect our consumers. We just can't allow them to go to Switzerland with all of its associates and begin to compete with the dollar." - COIN DESK

3. From The Forums: As the crypto markets begin to rebound from a bear market over the past year, @Crypto_bitlord made sure to remind everyone on Twitter about responsible crypto trading. He tweeted, "Whatever you do, don't panic buy or sell . The moment you do, you can almost guarantee it will pump/ dump"

@Ryanis999 seemed to know exactly what he meant when he replied, "I sold 33% of my link stack and it went up 100% the next day. Boom."

@khm_branding tweeted a parallel response that many of us experience all too often, "Yes, exactly the same that happens in the supermarket when you change line at the register, the line you get into will suddenly be a lot slower."

4. After a failed bid to join the board of the U.S. Federal Reserve, Stephen Moore joined Decentral, a decentralized cryptocurrency central bank. Decentral will have Fed-like responsibilities within the crypto space, such as regulating monetary supply and exchanging its own token for other cryptocurrencies. Decentral's token will be a stablecoin but it hasn't revealed whether it will be pegged to fiat or be algorithmically stabilized.  Moore will be the chief economic officer and said, "I'm really excited about doing this, I hope it makes me rich." - COIN TELEGRAPH
