3. Throwback Thursday: Litecoin HalvingLitecoin is one of the best performing cryptocurrency assets this year rising over 350 percent since the start of the year. Many assume that the upcoming halving event in August is causing investors to accumulate the currency before block rewards cut in half.

The last Litecoin halving event occurred in August 2015 when the mining block rewards were decreased from 50 LTC per block to 25 LTC per block. Leading up to the last halving event the price of Litecoin skyrocketed from under $2 to over $8 from June 1st to July 1st, which preceded the halving that took place a month later in August 2015. After the halving, the price of Litecoin remained steady and then continued a gradual rise throughout the year. Is Litecoin going to follow that path again during this next halving event? Only time will tell.
