 Monthly Ethereum (ETH) NFT sales on OpenSea hit an all-time high in January. January sales exceeded $3.5B for the first time, despite there still being two weeks left in the month. More: - OpenSea saw a single-day high of $261M this month and a daily trading volume of over $169M each day.
- Bored Ape YC recorded the most transactions so far this month, with over 14,306 ETH in Bored Ape sales occurring in the last 24 hours.
- Despite LooksRare skewing the overall NFT transaction data, OpenSea’s stats show that NFTs continue to gain popularity into 2022.

Spain’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) announced new legislation for crypto influencers. The financial regulator will require disclosures on any crypto promotions. More: - Influencer posts are required to disclaim that “Investments in crypto-assets are not regulated. They may not be appropriate for retail investors, and the full amount invested may be lost.”
- The influencer rule will additionally require users with over 100,000 followers to alert the CNMV on the types of promotions they plan to do, with at least 10 days’ notice.
- A fine of up to €300,000 will be imposed on influencers, crypto companies, and PR firms for failure to comply with the rules starting in February.

 OlympusDAO’s OHM sank 30% following liquidations and massive token sales. The token has been steadily falling 65% since the start of 20222. More: - OlympusDAO is a staking protocol that offers 3,706% APY for OHM staked on the platform.
- The Ponzi scheme-type tokenomics of the project originally saw initial staking rewards returns of over 190,000%.

Cardano (ADA) is up over 50% this week after a string of announcements from the Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK). The news came through an announcement of Cardano network scaling in 2022. More: - Cardano plans to implement a number of on-chain scaling solutions, including increasing block size by 12.5%, pipelining, input endorsers, and other improvements.
