- Bitcoin had a volatile week, trading between $5800 and $6700
- However, Bitcoin remains at about the same price it was trading seven days ago
- Bitcoin dominance rose to over 50% for the first time since December of last year

- Altcoins had an equally interesting week, following Bitcoin's price movement as they usually do

SoftBank Denies Deal with Mining Giant Bitmain
FAKE NEWS
- Recently, the Chinese publication QQ reported that Bitmain had secured financing from Japan's SoftBank for its impending IPO
- After receiving an anonymous tip, CoinTelegraph reached out to SoftBank to make light of the situation
To clarify, Kenichi Yuasa from the Corporate Communication Office of SoftBank Group responded:
"Neither the SoftBank Group Corp. nor the SoftBank Vision Fund were in any way involved in the deal."
WHAT'S THE VALUATION?
- The same Chinese publication QQ also expressed that Bitmain will have an estimated IPO valuation of $30 billion due to SoftBank's involvement
- In July, Bitmain reported Q1 profits of $1.1 billion and led a financing round that put its estimated valuation at $14-15 billion
- With uncertainty in the pre-initial IPO financing structure, Bitmain's estimated IPO valuation is now unknown
Bitmain could IPO on the Hong Kong stock exchange as soon as September.
