1. Square generated $43 million in bitcoin revenue during the third quarter. That is a $6 million increase from the previous quarter. While the company only made about $500,000 in profits from that business, it continues to expand its interaction with cryptocurrencies. 2. Bitmain has rushed to deploy more than 90,000 Antminer S9 machines to the western Chinese region of Xinjiang in preparation for the bitcoin cash hard fork. The company is reaching out to local mining farms in the coal-rich region of Xinjiang to set up operations that can take advantage of the fork. Xinjiang, and other nearby regions including in Mongolia, have a glut of energy that cryptocurrency miners have tried to take advantage of for years. –COIN TELEGRAPH

3. Amazon Web Services has partnered with Kaleido, a blockchain-based startup, to create an ethereum marketplace for enterprises. Kaleido offers blockchain specific support to businesses as part of a larger cloud platform. The marketplace will make it easier for enterprises to find a full stack of tools that encompass things from internal tools for developers to app interfaces. –SMARTEREUM

4. Here is a case study on the breach of StatCounter, a leading web analytics vendor, that provides insight about another avenue for cryptocurrency attacks.
