1. South Korean bitcoin exchange Bithumb was hacked Saturday morning, the second time the massive exchange has been breached in less than a year. Hackers stole around $20 million worth of EOS and XRP in the latest attack. The exchange was hacked last June, losing around $30 million in digital coins. "The fact that it has been less than twelve months since its last hack indicates Bithumb has a complete lack of regard for its customers' welfare," writes Paul de Havilland. –CCN

2. Litecoin just closed its most successful first-quarter performance on decade. The coin more than doubled in price, rising from $30 on January 1 to more than $61 today. Last year, litecoin saw prices drop 48.5, 30, 24.6 and 49 percent in each quarter, respectively. The four-quarter losing streak was the second largest on record and saw prices fall by 86 percent. While many factors are at play, including the recent success of the altcoin market, some experts believe litecoin's success can at least partially be attributed to the announcement of a mining reward halving, due later this year. –COINDESK

3. A new animated series called "Bitcoin and Friends" is now available for your binging pleasure. The series, produced by Uncle Chris Productions and available on YouTube, tells the story of bitcoin's origins and how it became the "widespread digital phenomenon" that it is today. The first episode shows Bitcoin, a digital coin with human-like attributes, living in New Jersey in 2009. He wakes up alone and tries to see out his father shortly after he meets an ice cream truck driver names Jones. It gets weirder from there. –BITCOIN EXCHANGE GUIDE

4. Finance Magnates went for the April Fool's joke today – announcing the SEC approved a bitcoin ETF – but not everyone thought it was a joke. The site's story included a fake tweet (that Rick Rolls the person who clicks on it), along with fake statements from the SEC. However, the article reads much like a typical news story – and if social media is any clue – served to excite some members of the bitcoin community opposed to giving them laugh. –FINANCE MAGNATES
