1. The SEC sued Kik for a securities violation that occurred during its 2017 $100 million ICO. The SEC claims that the $100 million ICO was a sale of unregistered securities and it has told a federal New York court that Kik should give the money back to investors, plus interest and penalties. Robert A. Cohen, Chief of the Enforcement Division's Cyber Unit said, "Kik told investors they could expect profits from its effort to create a digital ecosystem. Future profits based on the efforts of others is a hallmark of a securities offering that must comply with the federal securities laws." This lawsuit comes just a week after Kik started the Defend Crypto Fund to fight the SEC in court on behalf of the crypto community. -WALL STREET JOURNAL

Without a clear set of rules regarding digital asset fundraising and usage, do you think it's fair that the SEC can sue Kik but let similar projects walk away without retribution? Reply to this and let me know your thoughts!

Cryptocurrency analysts have pegged $8,200 as a psychological price metric that Bitcoin needs to sustain in order to continue a rally. -COIN DESK

  • rjm101 - "Just before anyone gets any high hopes. I highly doubt he (or anyone he brings) is going to change his mind in a lunch. It took him decades just to buy Apple."
