Hong Kong is heating up. In a clash between the city and the surrounding nation, tear gas is lining the streets as citizens protest for freedoms mainland China doesn't have. Because of these freedoms, only 11% of Hong Kong citizens identify as Chinese and naturally, this leads to poor trust in Chinese government.
That fear is what's driving these protests...and also bitcoin's Hong Kong premium...
